If you ask me, we’re officially in the golden age of BL dramas.
There are so many good series airing right now that I actually look forward to every new episode. These are the dramas that have me counting down the days until the next Friday (or whatever day they air), and the ones I can’t stop thinking about after each episode ends.
Whether you’re in the mood for a psychological thriller, a revenge story, forbidden love, or a slow, healing romance, there’s something on this list for you.
So if you’ve been wondering, “What ongoing BL should I start next?” here are the four dramas I’d pick without hesitation.
The Edge of the Horizon
The Edge of Horizon follows Prince Tinnakorn and Phob, the son of a servant, whose childhood friendship slowly turns into a forbidden love.
Tinnakorn and Phob grow up side by side as close friends, even though one is a prince and the other a servant’s son. But for Phob, Tin is more than a friend. He’s a love Phob simply can’t talk himself out of.
He knows exactly what Tin is, a prince, and a man. It doesn’t matter. Even when his mother notices and warns him to let go of this impossible feeling, Phob can’t stay away from Tin no matter how hard he tries.
When Phob finally confesses, it turns out Tinnakorn has been just as hopelessly in love with him all along. It’s Phob who helps Tin recognize his own feelings, and once they finally find their way to each other, we get to watch, however briefly, their sweet, innocent love unfold.
But no matter how small it feels to them, the reality outside is impossible to ignore, and living their love openly simply isn’t an option. Tinnakorn carries the weight of duty to his country and family as a prince, while Phob, as a servant’s son, will never be seen as “worthy” of him in the eyes of society. Under that pressure, they’re forced apart.
Years later, Phob returns as an army captain, still carrying years of resentment and feelings he was never able to let go of. He’s become one of the key figures behind a growing rebellion against the crown, determined to fight for the people who have suffered under an unjust system. But standing on the other side is the man he’s loved all his life.
Meanwhile, Tinnakorn finds himself torn between his father’s expectations, his duty to the crown, and the man he has never stopped loving.
I couldn’t get enough of their chemistry, the acting, those longing-filled glances. I’m not usually into angst, but this show pulls you in completely. Even with the fear of an unhappy ending hanging over me, it’s the kind of drama that leaves you thinking, “I’m so glad I watched this.”
Whether the ending breaks my heart or not, this is already one of my favorite BL dramas of 2026. If you love historical romance, forbidden love, and stories full of longing, don’t skip this one.

Don’t Be Too Emotional

Don’t Be Too Emotional is nothing like your typical university BL about a red-flag playboy falling for an innocent student. Instead, it tells a story that feels much closer to a deal with the devil.
Little Jane is an outgoing, kind-hearted college student whose life changes the moment he crosses paths with Big Jane, the mysterious man everyone on campus seems to fear. From that day on, he finds himself caught in Big Jane’s orbit.
Big Jane is handsome, charismatic, wealthy, and effortlessly charming. On the surface, he seems almost perfect. It’s no surprise that Little Jane is drawn to him. Big Jane makes him feel special in a way no one else ever has. But there’s one problem: everyone around Little Jane warns him to stay away. According to the rumors, Big Jane isn’t the person he appears to be.
People say that if you’re desperate enough, Big Jane can make any wish come true—whether it’s money, revenge, or something even more personal. But his help is never free. Every deal comes with a price, and anyone who breaks their promise, refuses his request, or tries to run away eventually pays for it.
Ignoring all the warnings, Little Jane is slowly pulled into Big Jane’s world. As their relationship grows closer, he begins to catch Big Jane in lies and learns about the ruthless bargains he’s made with others. Eventually, he decides to walk away. But just when he thinks he’s free, life pushes him into a corner, leaving him with no choice but to stand before Big Jane once again… this time on his knees, asking for help.
I honestly didn’t expect to love Don’t Be Too Emotional this much, but it completely pulled me in.
The biggest reason is Big Jane himself. He’s manipulative, mysterious, and impossible to figure out. Every episode leaves you wondering whether he’s really the monster everyone believes him to be or just someone who’s been judged before anyone ever tried to understand him. That uncertainty is exactly what makes his character so addictive to watch.
Tee and Heng’s chemistry is incredible, and the tension between them is enough to carry every scene. Add the beautiful cinematography, an outstanding OST, and a story that reveals its secrets piece by piece instead of rushing through them, and you end up with a drama that’s incredibly hard to stop watching.
If you enjoy psychological romance, morally gray characters, manipulative relationships, and stories that constantly make you question what’s real and what’s deception, Don’t Be Too Emotional is definitely a drama you shouldn’t miss.

Payback
Payback is a gripping BL drama that weaves together revenge, unexpected love, and the dark side of the entertainment industry.
The story follows Sun, a man who has spent years blaming himself for the deaths of his mother and younger brother. After working nonstop for five years to pay off the debts he took on for his mother’s medical treatment, he finally learns the truth.
The person who ruined his life wasn’t him. It was the ex boyfriend he trusted the most. While Sun was struggling just to survive, his ex stole the money that had been saved for his mother’s treatment and disappeared. Now he’s on his way to becoming a famous actor.
From that moment on, Sun has only one goal: revenge. To get close to the man who betrayed him, he joins the same entertainment company as an aspiring actor and begins putting his plan into motion.
But revenge isn’t the only thing waiting for him there. He crosses paths with Jay, the mysterious executive director of Dream Entertainment.
Sun barely remembers the man he spent one unforgettable night with years ago. What he doesn’t know is that Jay has been searching for him ever since, without realizing that the person he’s been looking for has been standing right in front of him all along.
At first, Jay sees Sun’s revenge plan as something amusing and decides to help him. Before either of them realizes it, that partnership slowly turns into something much deeper.
For me, Payback isn’t just the best manhwa adaptation I’ve ever watched. It’s also the best BL drama of 2026.
To be honest, I’m usually very skeptical about adaptations. Whenever one of my favorite manhwa or novels gets adapted, I go in expecting to be disappointed. Most of the time, I am. Payback completely proved me wrong. It showed me that an adaptation can stay true to its source material while still building an identity of its own.
The acting is outstanding. Not just from the leads, but from the supporting cast as well. Action, suspense, romance, friendship, betrayal, grief, healing… this drama delivers every emotion beautifully. On top of that, it doesn’t stop at telling a revenge story. It also takes a hard look at abuse of power, corruption, manipulation, and the exploitation of young actors within the entertainment industry.
I was genuinely shocked when I found out the actor playing Jay was only 23 years old. The amount of charisma and emotional depth he brings to the character at such a young age is seriously impressive. I truly hope both he and the rest of the cast receive all the recognition and awards they deserve.
I can’t recommend this drama enough. If you haven’t read the manhwa yet, I’d actually suggest watching the drama first. Every episode leaves you wanting to know what happens next, and experiencing the story without knowing where it’s going makes it even more enjoyable.

A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in Spring Hills’ Dream
A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in Spring Hills’ Dream Healing, breathtaking cinematography, poetic dialogue, and a romance that quietly finds its way into your heart.
The story begins when Qinglang, a famous actor exhausted by the pressures of fame, leaves everything behind and escapes to a quiet tea village in the mountains of Yunnan.
There, he meets Xu Changyang, a young man who has spent his life growing and harvesting tea. Coming from two completely different worlds, the two slowly get to know each other and, along the way, rediscover both themselves and what love really means.
For Qinglang, their meeting seems like pure coincidence. What he doesn’t know is that Changyang has admired him from afar for a long time.
If you’re looking for a fast paced drama packed with constant twists and action, this probably isn’t the right drama for you. But if you enjoy stories that take their time, let relationships develop naturally, and pull you in with their atmosphere, A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in Spring Hills’ Dream is absolutely worth watching.
Honestly, I started this drama already knowing I was probably going to love it. The director’s previous work, Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island, is one of my favorite BL dramas, so my expectations were pretty high. Thankfully, it didn’t disappoint. If anything, this drama tells an even richer, more layered story. It’s not just the main couple that gets attention. The supporting characters and side couples are given enough time to grow, making the world feel much more alive.
Watching Qinglang and Changyang fall in love was one of my favorite parts of the drama. They feel incredibly natural together, their chemistry is amazing, and every romantic moment between them feels genuine. Their relationship is both sweet and passionate, and it’s impossible not to root for them.
Changyang is also one of the biggest green flags I’ve seen in a long time. He doesn’t express his love through grand speeches. Instead, he shows it through his actions. He makes sure Qinglang is warm, cooks for him, looks after him, and is always paying attention to the little things.
He’s the perfect example of acts of service as a love language. Even though he’s the younger one, he’s surprisingly mature, and I loved that dynamic between them.
Another thing I absolutely loved was the way this drama is filmed. It doesn’t always feel like you’re watching a drama. Sometimes it feels more like you’re quietly following two people through their everyday lives. The camera lingers instead of rushing, making every walk through the tea fields, every meal they share, and every quiet moment together feel genuine. Nothing is rushed, and because of that, every emotion feels more real.
One last recommendation. If you finish this drama and find yourself wondering what to watch next, I can’t recommend Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island enough. It’s directed by the same person and shares the same beautiful visual storytelling, peaceful atmosphere, and unique way of telling a love story. In my opinion, it’s still one of the most underrated BL dramas out there.

⭐ Bonus Recommendation
I would’ve included The Prosecutor’s Proposal on this list, but it just finished airing. If you haven’t watched it yet, I highly recommend adding it to your watchlist. Even while it was still airing, I had a feeling it would become one of the best Korean BL dramas of the year, and the finale completely proved me right.
