Revenged Love is a 2025 Chinese BL drama adapted from Chai Jidan’s novel Counter Attack (though the author herself doesn’t actually recommend reading the novel—it’s far more intense and toxic than the drama, so only dive in if you’re ready for the chaos 😄).
The success of Revenged Love is both impressive and unmatched. With no official release on Chinese platforms, no promotion of any kind, and a very low budget, it still spread like wildfire—something I believe even the producers and actors didn’t expect. It’s wild.

Revenged Love My Review

I honestly didn’t expect this drama to affect me the way it did. At first, it seemed like pure chaos—revenge, absurdity, and snakes (literally!). I thought it would just be something lighthearted to laugh at. But before I knew it, it turned into this chaotic, hilarious, heartbreaking, and unexpectedly beautiful love story that hit me far deeper than I imagined.
It’s wild, unpredictable, and strangely addictive. The way it blends humor, pain, tension, and genuine affection is incredible—you never know what’s coming next. One episode has you laughing out loud, and the next leaves you in tears. That emotional rollercoaster is exactly what makes it so captivating.
At first, everything feels exaggerated—over-the-top plans, bizarre twists, Wu Suowei being… well, Wu Suowei—but somehow it all works. The humor draws you in, and before you realize it, you’re emotionally invested. What starts as a game of manipulation slowly transforms into a love story that feels raw and sincere.
Wu Suowei is honestly one of the most memorable BL leads I’ve ever seen. He’s sharp, chaotic, dramatic, and a total mess—but beneath all that, he’s soft, vulnerable, and deeply human. Watching him go from “this is just a game” to truly falling in love was so rewarding.
And Chi Cheng… I still can’t get over him. He begins cold, confident, and seemingly untouchable, but by the end, he’s completely undone. Watching him fall apart piece by piece because of Wu Suowei was both mesmerizing and heartbreaking. The way he looks at Suowei in the later episodes—like he’s the only person who matters—completely destroyed me.
What I love most about their relationship is how mutual it feels. In many BL dramas, one character does all the chasing, but here, Wu Suowei loves just as fiercely. He’s unapologetic about it too. He wants Chi Cheng, he adores him, and by the end, he’s the one holding him close. That balance made their connection feel real and alive.
The side characters deserve recognition as well—Guo Chengyu with his chaotic warmth, the doctor’s quiet depth, and even the smaller subplots added richness rather than distraction. Everyone had a role to play.
And the acting—absolutely phenomenal. Ziyu as Wu Suowei delivers a perfect mix of chaos and heart, while Tian Xuning as Chi Cheng is effortlessly commanding yet devastatingly tender when the walls come down. Their chemistry is electric—one of those rare pairings that make you truly believe in their love.
In the end, Revenged Love isn’t just a story about revenge. It’s about love, friendship, and how people can transform one another in ways they never expect. It’s messy, emotional, funny, and unforgettable. Not flawless—but it made me feel everything.
And please, don’t stop at the finale. The behind-the-scenes clips are just as addictive. The cast’s chemistry off-screen is unreal—they’re so comfortable and playful together, it’s impossible not to smile while watching them. So if you’re feeling that post-drama emptiness (and trust me, you will), go watch the BTS videos. They’re pure serotonin 💞
And if you’re craving another series with the same vibe, I’ve got two recommendations for you:
- Korean BL – Unintentional Love Story: If you loved the mix of chaos, humor, and heartfelt romance in Revenged Love, you’ll probably enjoy this one too. It’s got that same balance of messy schemes and genuinely tender moments.
- Japanese BL – My Personal Weatherman: If Chi Cheng’s possessive, obsessive-yet-loving personality won you over, this one is a must. The main character’s intensity and emotional growth reminded me so much of him, and honestly… it hits hard.
